9 to 5 Mac – 9/15/14: PayPal has updated its iOS app with support for loyalty cards from a long list of selected retailers. The app allows you to select one of the supported companies from the list and scan the barcode on your loyalty or discount card, then saves the data in a digital wallet. The update puts PayPal in competition with Apple’s stock Passbook application, which also allows for storage of loyalty cards and other similar information.
