VentureBeat – 7/16/14: Swiping a credit card is easy, and paying online should be just at easy, which is why Visa announced today the release of a product called Visa Checkout. It puts Visa plastic cards on the Internet through integration into merchants’ websites and mobile shopping apps. This is very similar to a prior Visa product, V.me, but we’ll get to that later. The idea with Checkout is that, for example, if you want to order a Pizza Hut pizza online, or order some pens and paper from Staples, you will have the option of checking with Visa right from these merchants’ websites and apps. The experience is designed to be as simple and quick as possible, only requiring a username and password to check out once you’ve registered for the service.
