Dutch payments company Adyen said Tuesday that it was expanding its platform to Canada. The company announced that Dollar Shave Club, Adidas, Busbud, and Canada Goose will use Adyen’s payment-processing capabilities for their Canadian operations. Kamran Zaki, the company’s president for North America, told MarketWatch that Adyen’s decisions to expand into new markets are “business-case driven,” and in the case of Canada, the company had merchants in Asia and the U.S. asking if it could also process payments in Canada. Adyen went public in Europe in June. Its shares priced at 240 euros during the initial public offering and have shot up to a recent price of about 600 euros.
