In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, FTSI, an independent provider of branch and digital transformation solutions for financial institutions, has introduced a new product, Smart Lockers for Banking. The locker offers contactless self-service at financial institutions and credit unions concerned for customer and staff safety post-pandemic, according to a company press release.

This customer-facing smart locker technology was designed specifically for financial institutions and can deliver debit cards, cashier checks, coin orders and documents at an integrated area within the branch location, outside the branch or at a hub location where customers conduct daily errands. Customers can interact longer at the locker and are not limited to traditional banking hours.

“We developed Smart Lockers for Banking as a way for our clients to deliver superior customer experiences and convenience while also allowing branches to extend hours of availability and to gain operational efficiencies,” Founder and CEO Susan Napier said in the release. “Now, with COVID-19 compelling physical distancing through the foreseeable future, financial and other enterprises with similar needs have even greater incentives to explore self-service capabilities.”

Smart Lockers are fully configurable for indoor or outdoor applications and for different size and space requirements. An easy-to-use interface allows bank personnel to generate one-time access codes to send emails to mobile devices and to track and maintain audit trails for when customers retrieve items from the locker, according to the release.
